The last 24 hours run-n-caught drama of notorious gangster Sylvester Daniel who escaped from custody of Gujarat Police and was later caught on Saturday 8 Oct by Udaipur Police. This resulted in further arrests and suspensions of four Gujarat policemen for their negligence.

Sub Inspector M.S Gohil, Constable Ambalal, Constable Vijay and Constable Gina Bhai of Vadodra Police have been arrested for alleged involvement in absconding Sylvester.

Sylvester (in photo above), a history-sheeter of Udaipur who is also one of the main witnesses in Sohrabuddin and Tulsi Prajapati case had absconded from Police custody while he was brought to appear in Udaipur court by Vadodra Police on Friday night of 7 Oct.

However, within 24 hours of his runaway, Bhopalpura Police of Udaipur caught him from one of his relative’s house in Udaipur, when interrogated he reveled that he was given ‘supari’ (contract to kill) two prominent businessmen of Udaipur.

According to some unconfirmed sources, the ‘supari’ was related to a disputed property at Durga Nursery Road. However Udaipur Police failed Sylvester’s intentions.

Today, police officers from crime branch, Vadodra came to Udaipur for investigations and also visited Sylvester’s house at Bhopalpura.

Sylvester is an accused of murdering a gangster Hamid Lala few years back. He is also believed to be a close associate of Sohrabuddin and Tulsi Prajapati who were killed in an alleged fake encounter.
