It was a great day for the thieves as they made their way with enormous wealth from a house in Sector 11 of Hiranmagri area. A house in Surya Estate was robbed off 50 tolas of gold, 2 kilo silver and 1 lakh rupees in cash.

It was a broad daylight theft. Randhir Singh runs a boutique and garment shop in Sector 13. His wife also accompanies him to the shop. Thursday afternoon wife Premlata went to the shop around 12 noon with lunch for her husband. When she returned home around 3 p.m. she was shocked to find that the house had been broken in. The door latch was taken off completely. Upon entering the house, she saw that things were lying scattered in the house and cupboards were open. When she searched through the cupboards, she discovered that 50 tolas of gold jewellery, 2 kilo of silver jewellery and one lakh rupees in cash were taken away. Thieves did not take anything else from the house. She called up her husband and also informed Savina police station about the theft. Savina SI along with FSL teams collected evidences from the house. CCTV footage were also taken.

As per police reports, thieves entered the house through the side wall. When they found the doors latched from inside, they used the front door and broke the locked latch with the help of a rod and robbed the house. The house in which Randhir Singh lives belongs to his relative. Randhir’s son Rahul who is in the army got married in their parental village on 2nd April. The entire family had gone to Dehradun for the wedding and returned Udaipur on 5th April. Rahul and wife were away on honeymoon when the incident occurred. Police is investigating the case.
