PM initiates ambitious redevelopment of 508 Indian railway stations via virtual ceremony

55 Railway stations of Rajasthan will be redeveloped

Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted a virtual ceremony to lay the foundation stone for the comprehensive redevelopment of 508 railway stations throughout India, in line with the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Among these, 55 stations in the state of Rajasthan will undergo development, signifying a substantial investment in the region. Notably, approximately 10 percent of the national budget will be dedicated solely to the enhancement of railway stations in Rajasthan.

The ambitious development project falls under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The plan also encompasses two significant railway stations - Rana Pratap Nagar and Mavli Junction. A total of Rs. 20.86 Crore will be invested in the comprehensive development of Rana Pratap Nagar station, while Mavli Junction will undergo improvements at an estimated cost of Rs. 20.99 Crore.

Stations As Per the Sources

  • A total of 12 stations within the Jaipur Railway Division will be subject to redevelopment.
  • The stations slated for redevelopment include Jaipur Junction, Gandhinagar, Phulera, Reewari, Bandikui, Alwar, Narena, Sikar, Narnaul, Reengus, Jhunjhunu, and Asalpur Jobner.
  •  A total of 10 stations within the Bikaner division are set to undergo development.
  •  Hisar, Sriganganagar, Suratgarh, Churu, Hanumangarh, Lalgarh, Sadulpur
  •  Ratangarh, Sirsa and Bhiwani stations will be developed.
  • 10 stations of Ajmer division will be redeveloped.
  • Sojat Road, Mavli, Rana Pratap Nagar, Pindwara, Dungarpur, Falna.
  •  Marwar Junction, Kapasan, Bhilwara and Bijaynagar.
  • Development of 15 stations of Jodhpur division.
  • Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Sujangarh, Balotra, Gotan, Didwana,
  •  Ramdevra, Degana, Nagaur, Phalodi, Ren, Merta Road, Barmer
  • Nokha and Deshnok stations will be redeveloped
