5-minute Cancer Treatment Technology introduced at Geetanjali
Geetanjali Cancer Center’s Radiation Department got the approval from Atomic Research Board to utilize FFF Technology of Radio surgery for cancer treatment last week. After the consent, brain, spine and lung cancer treatment were conducted.
Geetanjali Cancer Center’s Radiation Department got the approval from Atomic Research Board to utilize FFF Technology of Radio surgery for cancer treatment last week. After the consent, brain, spine and lung cancer treatment were conducted.
Director of Radio surgery Dept. Dr. Shanker informed that prior to Geetanjali, only two institutes in the country have the consent to use this technology. With the inclusion of this technology, 3 minutes will be spent for lungs and spine treatment and 5 minutes for brain cancer treatment. This technique does not require the need of anesthesia and stitches and has 90% success rate.
The technique called FFF or Flattening Filter Free is a safe procedure which involves less time with lesser pain and can be used for treatment in cancer of liver, pancreas, prostate, brain tumor, recurrent head and neck.
