Udaipur Tales 6th Edition

Udaipur, December 13,2024 - The sixth edition of the Udaipur Tales International Storytelling Festival will be held from January 10 to 12, 2025, in Udaipur. This popular event will feature storytellers from around the world, including countries like South Africa, Russia, Spain, Sri Lanka, and Singapore.

Themes of the Festival

The festival will showcase a wide variety of storytelling themes such as:

  • Historical

  • Mythology

  • Folk

  • Urban folk

  • Horror

  • Romantic

  • Comic

  • Dastangoi

There will also be special programs for children with special needs, making it an inclusive event for all.

Music and Performances

Along with storytelling, the festival will include:

  • Qawwali performances

Support for Local Artists

The event will also display Rajasthan's famous handicrafts and products made by local artists and artisans, helping to support them.

The festival will take place at a private resort near Shilpgram. The programs will run daily from 10 AM to 7 PM.

Organizer Sushmita Singha mentioned that the event aims to connect the younger generation with history through storytelling. She believes Udaipur Tales brings global stories to one platform.

Some of the famous storytellers attending the festival include:

  • Devdutt Pattanaik, known for his mythological storytelling.

  • Sameer Rahat, who blends poetry and music in his performances.

  • The Qutbi Brothers, who will enchant the audience with Sufi qawwali.

  • Rajat Meghnani, a renowned storyteller from Rajasthan.
