A joint team of the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, Child Line and the Labor Department rescued 7 Child Laborers this afternoon from Jindal Bags, Ghariyawaas and Bandwaal R
estaurant, Nehru Park today. The raids were carried out this afternoon by these organizations which resulted in the rescue of these 12-13 year olds. These children have reportedly been victims of human trafficking and have been brought to Udaipur from Salumbar as well as from other states including Bihar. UT had also reported a similar incident earlier this month when the Anti-Human Trafficking unit and Seva Mandir Child Line had rescued 3 underage boys working at various restaurants and tea stalls.
According to sources, Akhil Ansari, a contractor is involved in the illegal displacement of these children to the city. Child laborers are brought in from neighboring states by contractors like Ansari and then sold to local shopkeepers and industries in the city for cheap manual labor.
