Tears of happiness dropped from eyes and series of compliments were exchanged today, when a group of 99 pilgrims reached safely to Udaipur from the flood hit Uttrakhand.

Pilgrims from Udaipur, who were trapped near Badrinath, first reached temple of Bohra Ganeshji today, where relatives and friends were waiting to receive them.

Pilgrims were given a warm welcome at various places; they had left a month back with 250 individuals in 3 buses, of which 99 people were from Udaipur.

The delighted family members and well-wishers garlanded their near and dear ones, while some eyes filled with tears thinking about those terrifying conditions.

“It was the most horrific experience of getting face-to-face with death, a sense of relief was felt after a month”, said one of the pilgrims.

Another pilgrim informed that they were descending down the hill when cloud busted, but were stuck in traffic jam on hilly roads of Badrinath.

We had experienced number of landslides, though we were at safe places, but regular landslides were terrifying.

Pilgrims also said that there were some places where they had to clear the roads by themselves to move forward, although it was a very tough journey, but they are feeling lucky to be back home with relatives.
