High Voltage Drama in Bhilwara following the murder of a youth - Internet Suspended

Bhilwara Internet Suspended

Communal tension has erupted in Bhilwara following the murder of a 22 year old man in Bhilwara's Shastri Nagar Housing Board area. Internet services have been suspended since 6am to ensure that the situation does not worsen after the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Hindu Jagran Manch have called for a Bandh in the city. BJP has supported the Bandh and the tension is visible in the markets of the town.

On Tuesday midnight, a man was stabbed to death in Shastri Nagar of Bhilwara. While the BJP says that this is vengeance to a similar incident in Sanganer earlier, the police have said that this was a matter of personal vendetta. Three persons who are allegedly involved in the matter have been detained by the police.

SP Adarsh Sidhvu and District Collector Ashish Modi have informed media that the police are covering all aspects and that arrests will soon be made. The police teams have been formed and the police as well as district administration have appealed to the public to maintain harmony and avoid any talk or message that may lead to public discord.

The Murder

As per reports, two people approached Adarsh s/o Om Prakash late Tuesday night at the Brahmani Sweets Chauraha and stabbed him. The alleged assaulters belonged to a specific community, while the victim to another. This led to communal tensions in the area and subsequently messages floating across social media led the administration to suspend internet services. The youth was found in a pool of blood and taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The family have refused to take the body from hospital, demanding justice and the arrest of the miscreants.
