On Wednesday night, the night before the 74th Republic Day, the recipients of this year's Padma awards were revealed. Rajasthan's Ghazal singers Ahmed Hussain and Mohammad Hussain will be awarded with Padma Shri this year. 

The Hussain brothers belongs to Jaipur and they expressed their gratitude towards the State Government and the Central Government for this honor. They will be awarded Padma Shri in the field of Arts. 

"Those interested in this field should not be in a hurry to create a platform, do not care about the echo of applause. If someone gets trapped in the trap of publicity and money, then he drifts away from his art.” - Ahmed Hussain 

Apart from this, two notable personalities are aslo selected from Rajasthan for the Padma Shri for their respective fields namely Dudu based Water Conservationist Laxman Singh and Social Worker Moolchand Lodha respectively. 

Laxman Singh is 66 years old and has transformed 100 villages through innovations in a water conservation techniques called Chauka.

Ahmed Hussain and Mohmmad Hussain are renowned Ghazal Singers and they have 50 music albums released in a carrer spanning 50 years.
