Under JJM, the Major and Minor Drinking Water Projects (OTMP) have picked up pace

The state is quickly approaching the target of the Jal Jeevan Mission with ongoing monitoring and directives from Public Health Engineering Minister Dr. Mahesh Joshi. Under JJM, the Major and Minor Drinking Water Projects (OTMP) have picked up pace. The Public Health Engineering Department has recently sanctioned 62 OTMPs worth Rs.521.03 crore for 167 villages. Through these schemes, 62 thousand 930 water connections will be given to every household in the state. 

For the district of Dungarpur, 19 OTMPs totaling Rs.142.26 crore have been sanctioned. On the second number is Udaipur district where 15 OTMPs worth Rs 137.30 crore have been approved. In 62 villages in the Udaipur district, 18 thousand 820 water connections will be provided through these small-scale initiatives. Similarly, 5 thousand 217 water connections will be given in 31 villages through 3 OTMPs worth Rs 77.30 crore in Dholpur district.

3 thousand 394 water connections in villages, 1095 water connections in 17 villages through 2 OTMP schemes worth 21.01 crore in Sriganganagar district, 2 thousand 62 water connections in 2 villages through 2 OTMP schemes worth 12.60 crore in Alwar, Rs 7.78 crore in Sawai Madhopur 1982 water connections will be given in 2 villages through an OTMP scheme and 690 water connections will be given in 2 villages through an OTMP scheme of Rs 5.27 crore in Chittorgarh district. 

It is notable that so far water connections have been given to 30 lakh 80 thousand rural houses in the state. Maximum water connections have been made in Nagaur, Rajsamand and Hanumangarh. Out of total 134 mega projects sanctioned by the department, work orders worth Rs 10 thousand 835 crore have been issued for 22.21 lakh water connections in 9234 villages under 86 projects. In other schemes (OTMP), tenders have been invited for 35.26 lakh water connections in 14,793 villages. Out of these, work orders have also been issued for 27.08 lakh water connections.
