From April 1, 2023, the Congress government in Rajasthan will give 12 LPG cylinders at a cost of Rs. 500 each to BPL families registered under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. This scheme was announced by CM Ashok Gehlot at the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Alwar.

In the market, a 14 kg cylinder costs more than Rs 1,000. The action is estimated to assist around 67 lakh BPL families. In the upcoming budget, CM Ashok Gehlot has pledged additional government help to citizens in several categories, including a plan to give cooking kits to lessen the burden of inflation. Rahul Gandhi in his speech praised Rajasthan government's Chiranjeevi Yojana also. CM also praised Rahul Gandhi, adding that the roots of democracy have substantially weakened in the country and that Rahul Gandhi has started this yatra with a reason.

According to PM Narendra Modi, who broke his commitment to declare the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project as a project of National importance, the state government will implement the task under any circumstance; despite the centre government throwing obstacles in the way of completion. The CM further stated that under PM Narendra Modi, the Ujjawal Yojana did not benefit the poor because cylinder costs had jumped from Rs. 400 to Rs.1,040 each.

In addition, the CM also said that beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme are only provided with the first LPG cylinder and stove at no cost, and most cannot afford to purchase a cylinder after that. This step will provide cylinders to everyone under the scheme on an ongoing basis.
