The full pace investigation by teams from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and members of the SIT continues two days after the gruesome murder of Kanhaiya Lal Sahu in Udaipur by two Muslim youth. Both the arrested accused, Gaus Mohammad and Mohammad Riaz will be presented in Court today, following which, it is expected that they will be shifted to Delhi. NIA has said that the perpetrators intention was to strike terror among the masses and create communal discord and have registered a case under UAPA against the accused. The investigating agencies are also being said to review purported sleeper cells in Udaipur and nearby locations.
Both government officials as well as the Police department have defined this incident under a terrorist act with linkages to bodies across the border. The team in Udaipur conducted a search opertion on the rented accommodation of Mohammad Riaz in Khanjipeer in Udaipur and now the focus has shifted to Asind, a town in the Bhilwara district of Rajasthan, from where Riaz hails. As per reports, friends and relatives of Riaz have fled from the town, apparently fearing police interrogation.
SK Engineering, Sapetia, Udaipur
Accused were taken under Police escort to the factory in Sapetia at Sukher, where the video was purportedly made. A comprehensive search operation was conducted at the factory and offices of SK Engineering, in Sapetia, which comes under the Sukher Police Station. This factory is located at Sapetia, approximately 2km from the under construction Urban Square Mall on Sukher Road. As per confirmed sources, the video of the two accused circulating on social media was recorded at these premises. As per reports, even the arms used to effect the gruesome crime were manufactured here. Police and the investigating agencies have reportedly found more arms in the premises. The factory and offices of SK Engineering have been seized. Four persons from the said factory have been identified and detained for further questioning.
Chief Minister of Rajasthan
Ashok Gehlot, Chief Minister of Rajasthan is arriving at Udaipur today. He will be accompanied by State Home Minister Rajendra Yadav, Chief Secretary Home and the Director General of Police. The officials are expected to meet the family of late Kanhaiya Lal Sahu.
