Rishi Sunak,British of Indian origin scripted history by becoming the Prime Minister of UK after he garnered support of the majority of Conservative Party MPs following Penny Mordaunt's withdrawl of his own candidature . The backing of 100 MPs, which was required to run in the elections, was not obtained by former PM Boris Johnson or Penny Mordaunt. Rishi Sunak provided evidence of the progress made in the UK in terms of diversity and meritocracy. The appointment of a leader of color in the United Kingdom is a historic milestone, according to US President Joe Biden.

Sunak is the first UK prime minister of South Asian heritage. He is also the youngest Prime Minister of UK in over 200 years. For the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak prioritizes "Stability and Unity."  After being officially appointed by King Charles III, Sunak is anticipated to began his duties today.

Sunak, the son of a doctor and a pharmacist, attended Winchester School in England before moving on to Oxford. He worked for Goldman Sachs Group Inc. for three years before earning his MBA at Stanford University in California, where he also met the woman who became his wife, Akshata Murthy, the daughter of Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy.
