Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister of Electronics and Information Technology, Communications, and Railways, launched the G20 Digital Innovation Alliance (DIA). As India prepares to host the G20 presidency next year, the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeiTY), the nodal ministry for the G20 Digital Economy Working Group (DEWG), will prioritise three areas. These are digital public infrastructure (DPI), cyber security, and digital skill development, as well as the G20 summit's "keep safe online" campaign and DIA programme.

G-20 Sherpa and former NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant praised the campaigns for being among the first-ever G-20 initiatives to be undertaken globally. The goal of the keep safe online campaign is to enhance public knowledge about staying safe on online media platforms and the rapid adoption of digital payments.

Meanwhile, the G-20 Digital Innovation Alliance (G20-DIA) aims to discover digital innovations generated by entrepreneurs from G20 countries that can solve humanity's needs in the vital areas of agri-tech, health-tech, ed-tech, fin-tech, secure digital infrastructure, and circular economy.
