The probe in the Udaipur tailor murder case has been transferred to the NIA Court in Jaipur, after the Udaipur District Court effected orders towards the same on Friday, 1 July.

A few hours after two more persons, Mohsin and Asif were arrested in connection with the Udaipur tailor murder case, the Udaipur District Court has given orders for the transit remand of the two accused to National Investigation Agency (NIA). Both Mohsin and Asif will be produced in the special court of the NIA in Jaipur on Saturday, 2 July.  Further, the case registered through FIR 81/2022 at Dhan Mandi Police Station towards the murder, has also been shifted to the NIA Court in Jaipur.

Transit Remand Background

The NIA transit probe order comes after the Central Home Ministry order to register the case with NIA Police Station, New Delhi.  The FIR RC-27/2022/NIA/DLI was registered at NIA Police Station New Delhi on 29 June, a day after the murder of the tailor in Udaipur. Investigations by NIA has commenced on 29 June immediately after the case was registered. After the initial probe by the Udaipur District Court subsequent to which the two prime accused were sent to 14 days judicial custody, the matter will be addressed under Section 6 of the NIA Act 2008. The request by the Special Judge, NIA Court Jaipur was accepted by the Udaipur District Court and all records relevant to the probe in the said primary FIR 81/2022 registered at Dhan Mandi Police Station, Udaipur were transferred to NIA Court, Jaipur.
