Update your Aadhaar Card if it is older than ten years, according to the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). Anyone with an Aadhaar Card that is older than ten years will soon need to update their Aadhaar card information.

Address verification as well and Identification authentication for such Aadhar cards has become mandatory. Over the last many years since Aadhar has been in use, it has become the prime document of identification, and people utilize their Aadhaar numbers to benefit from a variety of government programmes and services. Hence the government has asked individuals to update their cards with their most up-to-date personal information in order to participate in government programs and schemes and even otherwise.

Aadhaar card holders have been asked by UIDAI to update their identification and address proof documents. Both online and offline updates are possible for Aadhaar Cards. Residents can obtain it online using the My Aadhaar Portal or in person at any nearby Enrollment Center.

When a child turns five, they must provide their biometrics at an Aadhaar Seva Kendra to complete a process known as Mandated Biometric Update (MBU). When enrolling for Bal Aadhaar, a proof of relationship document (ideally a birth certificate) is required. According to the government, the Bal Aadhaar is issued in blue to distinguish it from regular Aadhaar and states that it is valid till the child reaches the age of five.
