3rd National Wheelchair Cricket Championship 2022: Final match between Haryana and UP on December 3, 2022

Exemplary enthusiasm and enterprise was showcased by the challenged cricketers who are taking part in the tournament, organised by Narayan Seva Sansthan in Udaipur

The Semi Finals of the 3rd National Wheelchair Cricket Championship were played at RCA Ground, Surajpole Road, on the fifth day of the tournament.  This tournament, which is being jointly organised by Narayan Seva Sansthan, DCCI, WCI and Rajasthan Royals has witnessed exemplary enthusiasm and enterprise by the participants, who have overcome their physical challenge to showcase their abilities. According to Prashant Agarwal, President of Narayan Seva Sansthan, a favourable atmosphere for sports has been created among physically challenged individuals. Disappointed handicapped people would now undoubtedly consider joining sports to begin a new inning of their lives.

Giving information about the semi-final matches, he said that the first match was between Haryana vs Delhi. Haryana won the toss and batted first. Scored 217 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Chasing the target, the Delhi team got all out for 115 runs in 18.3 overs. With this, Delhi's dream of going to the finals also got shattered. Man of the match Sandeep Kundu scored a brilliant 96 off 42 balls. Mandhata Singh Ranawat, Deputy Director of Social Justice and Empowerment Department and Pravesh Pardeshi, District Information and Public Relations Officer, presented the trophy and emblem to Kundu.

The second match of the semi-finals was played between Uttarakhand and UP. In which UP batting after winning the toss, scored a massive 261 runs for 3 wickets. Batsman Raja Babu enthralled the audience by playing a blistering inning of 120 off 42 balls. Chasing the target, Uttarakhand's innings faltered at the very beginning and 6 batsmen returned to the pavilion for 62 runs in just 7 overs. The entire team was reduced to 143 runs in 19.5 overs. Umesh Kaushik, the man for UP, bowled three maidens in his alloted four overs and captured five crucial wickets for four runs. He received the prize for the man of the match from Rahul Badala, Director of the Badala Group. 

The Grand Finale will be played between UP and Haryana at RCA Ground at 11:00 am. Indian Wheelchair Cricket team captain Somjit Singh is also captaining the Uttar Pradesh team. Due to which this team is presenting the claim of the championship. Every year on 03 December, World Disabilities Day is observed with the goal of fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for people with disabilities. Throughout the year, Narayan Seva Sansthan works to improve and rehabilitate the disabled.The brothers with disabilities will undoubtedly benefit from this initiative.
