A newly constructed 3 storey residential building has collapsed due to rain at Janakpuri in Tekri area of Udaipur today afternoon. No casualties have been reported as the house was empty at the time of the incident. Janakpuri and nearby areas are one of the worst affected places due to heavy rain which lashed the city on 11/09/11.

Even after 24 hours have passed, water level is not decreasing in the area after it was logged last night. Though no additional information have been found regarding the owner of the house but people around the area told us that it was a newly constructed house and owned by a person from Sindhi community. All senior officials including Additional Deputy Magistrate, M.L Chouhan, Additional S.P, Tejraj Singh, Municipal Council Chairman, Rajni Dangi, MLA, Sajjan Katara and Area Councilor, Rajkumari Meena has visited the place and also inspected other adjacent areas which are heavily logged due to water. Since last night rainfall Janakpuri area was cut down from the rest of the city and even now no vehicle (2-wheeler) can come out or get into the area.
