Accused of Minor girl's rape gets 20 years in jail

The court has also slapped the accused with a fine of Rs. 1 lakhs

A POCSO Court in Udaipur convicted a man for 20 years in regreous imprisonment for raping a 15 year old girl. The court has also slapped the accused with a fine of Rs. 1 lakhs.

The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act court no. 2 judge Ashwini Kumar Yadav found the accused guilty of rape and sentenced him to rigorous imprisonment for 20 years on Wednesday.

The Public Prosecutor Advocate Sayed Hussain said the girl on March 10 2023 had gone to attain the nature's call meters away from her house, while returning back home she met the accused who forced her to sit on her motorcycle, when she refused to do so he threw her on the ground and started beating her. Than he threatened her again and took her to the house of one of his relatives There he kept her hostage and raped her several times.

Sayed said that the accused than left her near her village on the next morning and fled away.

The victim went to her house injured condition and narrated her ordeal following which her parents had lodged an FIR at Sayra police station against the accused who also resides in the same village.

The 31 year accused was later arrested and was booked under section 363 ( Punishment for Kidnapping), section 342 (Punishment for wrongful confinement of any person ), section 376 (punishment for rape) and section 6 of POCSO Act.

The trail in the case has been completed within a year and after examining 14 witnesses and 38 documents the court convicted the accused for 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and also levied a fine of Rs. 1 lakhs on him.
