May 24, 2025 - After Maharaja, Vijay Sethupathi has once again taken to the big screen. This time, he stars as Bold Kannan in the film Ace. The movie was released in theatres on May 23.

Sethupathi has kicked off 2025 with a mix of action, comedy and romance. Ace brings these three genres together, and its trailer had already piqued people’s curiosity. The Tamil film Ace, which took two years to make, is directed by Arumuga Kumar.

A First in Comedy Caper

“What excites me most is that Ace is a comedy caper - something I’ve never done before. Vijay Sethupathi and Yogi Babu lead most of the wild, fun moments, and for the first time, I got to try out this genre,” she added.

Filming in Malaysia and Chennai

“I filmed mostly in Malaysia and Chennai, where the tropical climate was challenging. Vijay Sethupathi’s dedication taught me how to adapt and get used to new environments,” Rukmini explained.
