Administration gears to Stop Illegal Mining in the region

Mining is an important aspect of city’s economy but illegal mining disturbs the natural balance and therefore Divisional Commisioner, Subodh Kumar Agrawal has instructed the District Collectors and mining officials to put a tight grip on illegal mining. Speaking in a meeting today, he pointed out that a movement will be carried out from 23rd April to 15th June, 2012 to prevent illegal mining and appealed the concerned departments including Revenue, Police, Forest, Transport and Mining to work in coordination to make this campaign effective.

Speaking in a meeting today, he pointed out that a movement will be carried out from 23rd April to 15th June, 2012 to prevent illegal mining and appealed the concerned departments including Revenue, Police, Forest, Transport and Mining to work in coordination to make this campaign effective.

To achieve the target he advised to form groups on district and local levels and instructed all the members to lay out a plan and ensure a successful and smooth implementation of the same.

The state government has taken a serious step to stop illegal mining activities and has laid out a project in a joint collaboration of Administration, Police, Forest and Transport departments. All the hot spots of illegal mining activity will be inspected by officials of this joint collaboration and the individuals, machinery and vehicles involved in this activity will be taken under custody and strict action will be taken against the accused as per the rules.

Engineers and additional engineers, Technical officials from Mining department, officials from Forest, Treasury, Transport and Police department, Officials appointed by District Collector or Superintendent of Police will be working for the movement under the supervision of Minerals Conservation and Mines & Geology Department.
