According to information from the Union Government, construction on the NH project between Ahmedabad and Udaipur will be finished in June. The section from Udaipur to Shamlaji was finished on May 31, 2021, at a cost of Rs 2,088 crore, according to a written response from Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways, in response to a query about the progress of the six-lane NH project and the funding given for the project.
The minister said that 87 pedestrian underpasses, vehicle overpasses, cattle underpasses, and road overbridges had been built on the route between Udaipur and Naroda.
According to information provided by the Union Government, NH projects worth Rs 3,192 crore have been approved for construction in Gujarat during the current fiscal year, while 84 NH projects worth over Rs 50,000 crore have been finished there during the last three years.
“The six-laning of the Shamlaji-Mota Chiloda section is projected to be completed by June 2023 for Rs 1,361 crore. The section between Mota Chiloda and Naroda is expected to be completed by April 30, 2023, at the cost of Rs 394 crore.” - The Minister
In addition, the minister said that maintaining and building new national roadways is a continuous effort. The detailed project report (DPR), traffic volume, and resource availability all factor into the decision of which projects will be undertaken in which year.
