Bar Council of India Chairman Manan Kumar Mishra assures that the AIBE exam centre will soon be set up in Udaipur, benefiting thousands of law graduates from Rajasthan’s tribal and rural regions

Udaipur, Feb 23, 2026 - The examination centre for the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) is likely to be established in Udaipur soon, as per an assurance given by Manan Kumar Mishra, Chairman of the Bar Council of India.

According to Bar president Jitendra Jain, currently, Udaipur division has around eight universities and 20 law colleges, from which more than 2,000 students graduate every year. However, AIBE exam centres are located in cities such as Jodhpur, Jaipur and Ahmedabad, which are at quite a distance from Udaipur division.

Udaipur is a divisional headquarters and hosts several competitive examinations conducted by the Central and State government. The division includes tribal and economically backward districts such as Banswara, Dungarpur, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Rajsamand, Pratapgarh and Salumbar.

Currently, candidates have to travel 400-500 kms to other cities to appear for the examination, leading to financial-, time- and travel-related difficulties. This is especially inconvenient for candidates from rural and remote areas and who fall below the poverty line.

Considering the convenience of advocates and to ensure regional balance, Bar Executive vice-president Mahendra Menaria, Secretary Ashish Kumar Kothari and Finance Secretary Dharmendra Soni had urged for the establishment of an AIBE examination centre in Udaipur.

Chairman Mishra has responded positively and assured this thereby providing direct benefits to thousands of advocates and making the examination process more accessible and convenient.
