Amnesty scheme approved for mines and construction departments by Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot

Rising to the challenges being faced by the Department of Mines in the Rajasthan government, the Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved an amnesty scheme. This scheme is valid for three months and will cover cases of dead rent, royalty, royalty recovery contracts penalty, and short-term permission letter and contractor of construction department.

Under the scheme, it will be ensured that 90% of the arrears are recovered by the administrative department. Applicability of the scheme will cover cases of surcharge, fixed balance, arrears of royalty, penalty, royalty collection contracts (RCC) or Excess royalty collection contracts (ERCC).. This will also cover dues of construction department and STP contractors and other department arrears excluding the GOI notified 31 principal minerals.

Cases included

  • Where orders for demand have been issued till 31 March 2019
  • Arrears and other arrears of mining leases and contracts
  • Arrears of contractors of STP
  • Arrears of contractors of construction department
  • Where borrower has withdrawn his suit from court and undertaken to not challenge any court decision in respect of arrears of cases settled under this scheme.

Benefits applicable to

  • Outstanding amount deposited till the date of implementation of scheme
  • Amount deposited earlier subject to liabilities will not be adjusted

The scheme also allows the waiver of the interest amount by the mining engineer or assistance mining engineer of the concerned area for any defaulter who has already deposited the principal amount of outstanding stationary, surcharge, excess surcharge or other arrears.
