Udaipur, February 20,2025 - Children coming to Anganwadi centers will now enjoy facilities similar to play schools. They will learn through play-based activities and also connect with nature. The Women and Child Development Department is setting up Poshan Vatika (kitchen gardens) and children's parks in several Anganwadi centers.
In the first phase, 242 Anganwadi centers will have Poshan Vatika, where fruits and vegetables will be grown. This will help children learn about fresh and organic food. Meanwhile, 186 centers will have children's parks with play equipment.
The department will also set up rest corners in 365 Anganwadi centers. Each corner will have a bed where children can relax. An amount of Rs 6,000/- will be spent on each rest corner. Children’s parks will have swings and slides for kids to play. Geometric shapes will be created to help children learn basic math. Plants will also be grown in the parks. The department will spend Rs 30,000/- on each park.
