The Government Higher Secondary School at Surajpol Tekri was shut down today for a few hours after the parents of the students forcibly locked the school.

Parents have put teachers guilty of not being regular to school for the last three months and over all, the school Headmaster has allegedly threatened the parents for their objection too.

However, the school re-opened after a few hours of furious agitation between both the groups, leaving a vulnerable remark on teacher’s responsibilities and lack of coordination between the Department of Education and the school authorities.

While Headmaster Dinesh Jinger has his own justifications, parents have their own points which are yet to be answered.

The issue started when teachers of Surajpol Tekri government school have been continually irregular to schools, coming late on duty and not changing school time for students as per the directions given by the District Collector.

School head, Dinesh Jinger said, “I don’t have any information regarding changes in school timings.”

While parents and school staff were quarreling over the matter, the area councilor Smita Porwal tried to take the situation under control.

“I don’t blame anyone, though it was a tragic incident and it happened due to lack of information; the school has been re-opened now”, said Smita Porwal.

One of the parents told media persons that the school principal had threatened the parents with dire consequences if they would not allow the school to re-open.
