Even in the absence of water coming in from the catchment area, the newly constructed anicut at Thoor ki Paal has started overflowing.

UIT had recently carried out development work in the area and had constructed an anicut in the downstream are of Thoor ki Paal. This anicut has been constructed at a distance of around 150 mtrs from the paal and has a height of 1.3 mtrs. A 52 meter long ghat section has also been constructed in the area for promoting tourism and giving tourists a place to come, sit and enjoy.

The development work has been carried out for promoting religious tourism for Dhameshwar Mahadev temple that is situated nearby.

The anicut has already started overflowing. The overflow will become even prettier if and when the water also starts flowing into Thoor lake from Madar and Jamudia ki Naal.
