Online frauds have become a frequent crime in the city. In spite of messages and news being circulated through various medias, people still fall prey to phone calls and become victims.

A woman from Delhi Gate area has become just another victim of an online fraud. As reported in Dhanmandi police station by Saroj Nagori of Delhi Gate, a huge amount was withdrawn from her account by a phone caller. Saroj received a phone call from someone posing to be a bank representative. This unidentified man asked her to link her Adhar card with the bank account.

In the process, he asked for her Adhar number, ATM card number and even took the OTP number. The lady did not realise then she was being mislead and robbed. The moment she gave him the OTP number, 90,000 rupees were transferred from her bank account. When she received an SMS from the bank, she understood that she had been cheated.
