Udaipur city is in for another ropeway from Neemuch Mata to SIERT hostel. Contract for this ropeway will be finalised in this fortnight itself.

The city already has a ropeway from Dudh Talai to Karni Mata temple. Now another ropeway has been finalised between Neemuch Mata temple to SIERT hostel. This will be Udaipur city’s second and region’s fourth ropeway. Ropeways are being operated in Ajmer and Jalore, too, apart from Udaipur.

Estimated budget for this ropeway is 13 crore rupees. UIT has got permission from State Government along with financial assistance for the upcoming ropeway. A contract will be signed between UIT and Damodar Ropeway and Infra Ltd. Technical formalities have been completed for this purpose. A detailed project report is also ready and within 15 days contract will be signed, said DK Bansal Joint General Manager of the company. He said that the ropeway project will be completed in two years’ time.

UIT has assigned the lands of SIERT hostel and Neemuch Mata temple for ropeway.  XEN UIT Mukesh Jani said that all preliminary formalities have been done and now it is the company’s responsibility to carry out the task of processing the ropeway. UIT is now making arrangements to create parking space near SIERT hostel. The ropeway will be based on fixed grip pulsed system.

Capacity- 600 passengers, 400 passengers per hour

Speed- 0 to 36 metre per second

Length- 405 metres

Level difference- 150 metres

Rope- 42mm, 6 times seal construction, PP fibre core

Cabin- 4 groups (8 cabins), capacity of each cabin is 6(48 passengers can go at one time)

Main drive motor- 150 KW MC

Since a lot of people visit Neemuch Mata regularly and even tourists love to go up there, ropeway will be an additional attraction for the tourists.
