Udaipur, March 18, 2025 - Applying for new electricity connections has become easier in Rajasthan. Now, people can apply through e-Mitra without visiting the electricity distribution company (discom) offices. A senior energy department official said that Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Ajmer discoms have started this facility for all types of consumers.

No More Physical Visits

Earlier, e-Mitra was available, but it was not linked to the New Connection Management System (NCMS). Due to this, applicants had to visit discom offices. Now, this issue has been resolved. The department is also working to provide other services through e-Mitra. Soon, consumers will be able to apply for changes in name, category, and electricity load.

Paperwork and Time Saved

Discom official Dogra said that earlier, every new connection required manual paperwork at sub-division offices. Now, all processes, including inspection and demand notes, will be handled digitally on the NCMS module.

The integration of the JEN Site Verification App with NCMS will make on-site inspections more transparent and save time.
