Automated Driving Test Track to Start Soon at RTO
The Transport Department will soon launch an automated driving test track with sensors, cameras, and computerised scoring to ensure fair and transparent license tests
Udaipur, Feb 11, 206 - The Transport Department’s advanced automated driving test track will begin operations soon in the city. Technical testing has already been completed, and the department is now completing formalities related to the inauguration. According to officials, the facility may start within the next few days.
The automated track is equipped with sensor-based lanes, digital cameras and a computerised scoring system. As soon as a driver takes the test on the track, every activity will be recorded and the system will immediately issue an alert in case of any mistake. This will make the driving license process completely fair and transparent.
Recently, trial runs were conducted in the presence of departmental officials, and they were successful. All technical equipment is functioning properly.
Regional Transport Officer Gyan Dev Vishwakarma said the automated driving test track is completely computer-based, with no human intervention. Advanced cameras and sensors on the track monitor every movement of the vehicle and instantly record any mistake.
During the test, drivers must demonstrate balance on the 8-track, forward and reverse driving on the S-track, starting on an incline without rolling back and proficiency in parallel and garage parking. As soon as the test is completed, the computer screen will immediately display a Pass or Fail result.
Once the track becomes operational, long queues at the RTO office will be significantly reduced. The testing process will become faster, and qualified drivers will be able to obtain licenses without recommendations.
