Ayad River

In a recent inspection on June 18, 2024, City MLA Tarachand Jain and District Collector Arvind Poswal visited ongoing beautification projects along the Ayad River. They expressed mixed sentiments, noting incomplete work in certain sections while acknowledging near-completion in other area. Concerns were raised over potential monsoon flooding, particularly along the Ayad riverbanks.

The officials immediately instructed the removal of accumulated water and mandated repairs for damaged walls. Efforts to contact the contractor responsible for the incomplete tasks by Smart City officials proved unsuccessful, prompting the District Collector to urge timely completion to prevent rainwater from jeopardizing the project's integrity.

Work Near Ashok Nagar

MLA Tarachand Jain expressed dissatisfaction with the sluggish progress of work near the Ashok Nagar crematorium on the Ayad River. Responding to the situation, District Collector Arvind Poswal directed CEO Pradeepsinh Sanghavat of Smart City to expedite the connection of polluted drains from CPS School to the sewerage system within three days.

Illegally Demolishing River Walls

Further inspections revealed additional challenges ahead of Alipura, where MLA Jain voiced frustration over incomplete preparations for the monsoon. The contractor assured completion of pending tasks upon questioning. In Alipura, allegations were made against an individual for illegally demolishing river walls twice to create unauthorized parking spaces, leading MLA Jain to demand the filing of an FIR against the accused.

Illegal Encroachment Removal at Pulia

Moving to Pulia, concerns were raised about encroachments where individuals had erected walls spanning 50 feet along the riverbed. MLA Jain and Collector Poswal instructed immediate clearance of these illegal constructions to restore the area's natural state.

Additionally, Municipal Chief Engineer Mukesh Pujari addressed concerns about cleanliness in Gumaniya drain, quickly instructing officials to expedite cleanup efforts.
