Ayushman Bharat Health Program

In the Ayushman Bharat program, the first round of training for Block Level Health Ambassadors starts this Thursday, January 11, 2024 in Udaipur District. It will last for three days as part of the School Health and Wellness Program. A team of trainers has been set up at the state level for the training. Dr. Mridula Tiwari, the District Program Coordinator and Head of the Diet Department, shared that 1050 teachers from 1662 schools in Udaipur and Salumbar districts will receive training. The remaining health ambassador training by RSCERT is scheduled for next month.

Trainees will learn about nutrition, health, and hygiene, promoting a healthy lifestyle, preventing substance abuse, safe internet and social media use, emotional well-being, mental health, gender equality, relationships, reproductive health, HIV prevention, values, responsible citizenship, staying healthy and safety from violence and injury.

Schools are important for helping students develop healthy habits that last a lifetime. To make sure this happens, the Ayushman Bharat Programme has included health activities in the School Health & Wellness Programme since February 2020. This is going on in government and government-aided schools in various districts, including aspirational ones.

Diet Principal Chandrashekhar Joshi shared that training is scheduled in Gogunda, Kherwada, Lasadiya, Girwa, and Mavli blocks from January 11 to 13 for the first phase. In the second phase, training will take place in Sarada, Nayagaon, Kurabad, Jhallara, Vallabhnagar, Sayra and Badgaon from January 22 to 24. The third phase will cover Semari, Rishabhdev, Jhadol, Phalasiya, Salumbar, Bhinder and Kotda blocks from January 29 to 31, 2024. In Girwa, 100 teachers and 50-50 teachers from the other 19 blocks will get refresher training as health ambassadors.
