Ex-Indian cricket captain and MLA, Mohammad Azharuddin was in the city of lakes today to support the participants of National Youth Festival 2011. In a conference held at CTAE’s auditorium at University Campus, Azharuddin addressed NSS volunteers and NYF participants from different states along with delegations of SAARC nations.

The program started with a short speech by Azharuddin who was a chief guest there, followed by a question answer session where youngsters asked questions about his personal and professional life.

Azharuddin who is also an active social worker encouraged youngsters to join NSS and other social service campaigns to help needy people.

He said that social work is his ultimate goal. While answering one question about best Indian cricket team captain in his view, he credited Kapil Dev as the best captain till now.

In another question regarding public demand of honoring Bharat Ratn to Sachin Tendulkar, he said that it is committee’s job to decide, not people.

Common Wealth Games Gold Medalist Sini Jose was also there with Sarda Ali Khan, Director NSS in today’s conference.

Later the Rajasthan State Government honored Azharuddin with a memento. Azhar also met the delegations of Bhutan, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka who came to attend this 4 day National Youth Festival.

Udaipur is enjoying being the host to 16^th National Youth Festival. Many elite personalities are heading towards Udaipur from last few days.
