Bank employees carried out a protest under the United Forum of Bank Union and raised slogans against Central Government. As part of the national strike, Nationalised bank employees ensured a closure of all banks and got them all assembled at Bank Tiraha near Delhi Gate.
The employees raised slogans and demanded honouring of the 11 point memo by the Government. Slogans were raised against PM Modi and FM Arun Jaitley. They demanded that promises be fulfilled that were made against the additional work that employees had done during the demonetisation period.
They also raised the demand for recruiting on vacant posts as employees were facing huge problems because of the same. P.C.Khichi, Secretary, United Forum of Bank Union, Udaipur said that the strike would have cost the city transactions worth Rs 200 Crore
