Bankers' Strike Continue, Transactions Worth Crores Distressed

Bankers across Udaipur continued their strike on second day, as called by United Forum of Bank Union against various demands including implementation of 10th Bilateral Salary Settlement and various other such demands. Strike affected transactions worth crores over two days.

Bankers across Udaipur continued their strike on second day, as called by United Forum of Bank Union against various demands including implementation of 10th Bilateral Salary Settlement and various other such demands. Strike affected transactions worth crores over two days.

Today, on second day of strike, bank workers and officials forcibly closed the private banks across city. Meanwhile they demonstrated at HDFC Bank Durga Nursery Branch. It also clogged central clearing house which affected clearance of around Rs. 200 crores.

According to D.K Jain, Convener, United Forum of Bank Union, “These unfavorable decisions of Central Government and RBI (Reserve Bank of India) is provoking bankers for volatile demonstrations in future, which may also force bank employees to go on indefinite strike.”

“The prominent demands of bankers include implementation of 10th Bilateral Salary Settlement, Stop Privatization of Banks, Checking Banking License to Business Houses, Implementing 5 Days Working and Stop International Banks to enter Indian banking Sector” added D.K Jain
