Banks and Petrol pumps to strike work on 7th Jan
Wednesday i.e., 7th January will witness two strikes in the city- one by the bank officials and the other by petrol pump operators.
UPDATE: The strike of the bankers has been postponed as instructed by heads centered at Mumbai. Due to positive remarks discussed in the meeting, the bank officials have decided to keep the banks open tomorrow i.e., 7th January 2015.
The petrol pumps however, will remain shut as decided.

The banks which will close down by today evening will open on Thursday morning. Also the petrol pumps will remain close from today 12 am onward till Wednesday 12 am.
The bank officials have decided to go for strike in context to the delayed 10th wage settlement. The nation-wide strike will be previaling in the city as well. To avoid people getting affected by the strike, all the ATMs will be filled with appropriate sum of money by today.
On the other hand, the increased 4% VAT on Petrol-Diesel is the reason of the petrol pump owners to go for the strike. Under the Rajasthan Petroleum Dealers Association, all the petrol pumps of the district will remain close.
