The Bhajan Lal led BJP government in Rajasthan has revoked the formation of 9 new Districts and 3 Divisions in Rajasthan. The erstwhile Ashok Gehlot led Congress government had formed 17 new Districts in Rajasthan recently. Of the 17 new Districts, the formation of 9 districts and 3 Divisions has been revoked by the current BJP government in a cabinet meeting held on Saturday, December 20, 2024. As a result, the total of districts in Rajasthan will be 41. However, out of the 17 Districts created in Gehlot Raj, 8 Districts will remain as they are. Apart from this, no decision has been taken yet on canceling the Sub-Inspector Recruitment Exam 2021.

Districts Abolished:

Dudu, Kekri, Shahpura, Neemkathana, Gangapur City, Jaipur Rural, Jodhpur Rural, Anupgarh and Sanchore

New Districts Retained:

Balotra, Khairthal-Tijara, Beawar, Kotputli-Baharod, Deedwana-Kuchaman, Phalodi and Salumber

New Division Abolished:

Pali, Sikar, Banswara

No decision was taken in the meeting regarding Sub Inspector (SI) recruitment. Law Minister Jogaram Patel said - The case of SI recruitment was not in today's agenda, the matter is pending in the court. In the meeting, it was decided to keep the score of Common Eligibility Test (CET) valid for three years instead of one. New people will be added to the Food Security Scheme, new names will be added by running a campaign for 3 months. Panchayats, Panchayat Samitis and Zilla Parishads will be reorganized in the state.
