In the seventh National Conference on KVK-2012, which held at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana from November 2 – 4, KVK Anta (Baran) was declared as best KVK among 70 KVKs working in Zone-VI of the country (Rajasthan, Gujarat, Nagar & Haveli and Daman & Diu).

In the seventh National Conference on KVK-2012, which held at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana from November 2 – 4, KVK Anta (Baran) was declared as best KVK among 70 KVKs working in Zone-VI of the country (Rajasthan, Gujarat, Nagar & Haveli and Daman & Diu).

Dr. O.P. Gill, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. I.J. Mathur, Director Extension, MPUAT, Udaipur and Dr. I.N. Gupta, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Anta (Baran) received the Best KVK Award from Honorable Agriculture Minister Shri Sharad Pawar and Dr. S. Ayyappan, Director General, ICAR, New Delhi on 20th November, 2012.

The KVK, Anta received the award for excellent work on transfer of technology programs. The centre organized many Vocational training programs on entrepreneurship development for rural youth. Large numbers of youth have established their own enterprises in Baran district on agriculture and related enterprises.

For transfer of newly generated technologies, centre organized large number of trainings, Frontline Demonstrations and other extension activities that have resulted in an increase in productivity of various crops in the district. Centre promoted horticultural crops in large area in the district by which socio-economic condition of farmers improved. It is also engaged in quality seed production at its instructional farm and providing it to farmers at reasonable price. Also, the centre has only 11.0 ha farm area but has generated maximum revolving fund.

The centre did excellent work on horticulture, seed spices, medicinal & aromatic plants, animal husbandry and processing & value addition. Majority of farmers of district have direct approach with KVK scientists and they are getting regular advice. KVK received Rs. 4.0 lac in cash and Rs. 1.0 lac as travel grant along with a citation.
