Best Tourism Village

Udaipur District's Menar Village was awarded Best Tourism Village title 2023

The Ministry of Tourism, in an effort to boost rural tourism across the country, has launched the second edition of the Best Tourism Village competition 2024. This initiative aims to recognize and promote villages that excel in providing a memorable and enriching experience to visitors.

In the year 2023, the Indian government made a significant decision by selecting a total of 35 villages from all corners of the country to participate in this competition. Among these, Menar village in the Udaipur district was honored with the silver medal for its remarkable attributes. Another notable recognition went to Naurangabad-Shree Mahaveerji, which was awarded the Bronze Medal.

In light of this, applications are currently being accepted for the Best Tourism Village competition of 2024. If your village embodies the spirit of hospitality and has unique offerings for tourists, seize this chance to showcase its charm and appeal on a national platform. The competition provides a wonderful opportunity for villages to highlight their cultural, natural, and historical assets, fostering a deeper appreciation for the rich tapestry of rural life.

As per information from the Tourism Department, the Central Ministry of Tourism is conducting a competition to recognize and select the best tourism villages across the country. The ministry is currently organizing the second edition of the competition, titled the Best Tourism Village Competition 2024.

The Competition Will Be Held At Three Levels

The initial stage at the district level, followed by the state level, and culminating in the third and final stage at the national level. This multilevel approach ensures a thorough evaluation and recognition of villages that excel in various aspects of tourism across the diverse landscape of the country.

This initiative spans 11 categories according to which the villages will be selected. This will include Heritage, Agri-Tourism, Craft, Green Village, Vibrant Village, Spiritual and Wellness and Clean Village. In each category, villages will be singled out based on their distinctive features. For instance, the village chosen in the Heritage category will be designated as the Best Tourism Village Heritage.
