Android N will now go by the name Nougat, as announced by Google on Snapchat.

The latest version of Android, “N” was open to name suggestions since last month in the I/O forum and Google closed in on Nougat yesterday.  Androids latest desert theme version was announced earlier in March this year and is set for release in a few weeks, currently being on its most stable Beta.

What does it have over Marshmallow:

• Improved Notification Shade
• Split Screen Multi-tasking
• Improvement on Doze
• Daydream – Google’s new VR Platform

Lauren Goode guessed the correct name – it is also her cat’s name.
