Shatruhan Nishad from Mogaria village in Baanda district of UP has only one uniform which he wears daily to school. His parents said that he got this uniform years back which is now almost worn out. The shirt went short of 2 buttons but Shatruhan didn’t want to miss school. There were no buttons at home, so he replaced the buttons with a lock thinking he wouldn’t be punished this way. At another button hole, he used a wire to keep the shirt in place. His teacher saw him in this condition and immediately clicked a photograph which is now going viral on social media.
Social worker Ashish Sagar said that uniforms are being distributed to the children. There are many plans in action for the students and money flows in like anything. Despite all this, the schools and students are in a poor state. Students are helpless enough to wear torn clothes.
