Boating in Jaisamand: Action if Tourists Without Life Jackets

Police carry out inspection of boats plying on Jaisamand Lake to ensure their fitness; warn of strict action if boat operators found violating norms

Udaipur, January 4, 2025 - Jaisamand police station in-charge Rajendra Prasad Meena and RTO Rajesh Pathak conducted an inspection of boats operating on Jaisamand Lake yesterday, January 3. This move was following instructions from Sarara DSP Chandmal Singaria. They checked the licenses, fitness, and insurance of the boats operated by co-operative societies, as well as those of the boats at the hotels on Baba Island in the lake.

The inspection team examined the boat numbers and life jackets, providing necessary guidelines. The authorities instructed all boat operators not to allow tourists to go boating without wearing life jackets. They warned that strict action would be taken against boat operators who violate the rules and allow tourists on boats without life jackets. The boat operators were instructed to obtain an NOC from the Irrigation Department for the jetty and boat operations inside the lake and present it soon.
