Current in railing of Mehandipur Balaji temple

Sudden electric current in the railings of Mehandipur Balaji temple in Dausa caused a furore.

Mehandipur Balaji temple was full of devotees when a sudden furore was caused due to electric current in the railings of the temple. 2 victims who suffered shocks have been admitted to a private clinic. No other casualties have been reported so far.

Early morning around 6:30 a.m. a wire hanging from the transformer touched the railing where devotees had lined up for aarti. Everyone present felt the slight current passing through the railing. Presence of current in the railing created a furore and people started rushing away from the place. Police officer Rajiv Kumar said that the current supply was cut off immediately. Probably the water collected around transformer created an earthing in the railing, as a result of which the current supply affected the people leaning on the railing.

The electricity department has been informed and the power line is being repaired.
