Forest department is oranising an eco-tour for environment lovers on Oct 26, 2016. The tour is being organised to Deewair, situated in Todgarh-Raoli wildlife sanctuary.
Deewair is located around 120kms from Udaipur. It was established in 1983 and is spread across the districts of Pali, Ajmer and Rajsamand. Deewair is home to the historical place where Maharana Pratap defeated Akbar’s Mughal army in 1982’s battle.
The sanctuary is spread over 495 sq kms and is full of tropical deciduous forests and grasslands. Given that the site has been hitherto unexplored, forest department aims at improving its visibility and making it a eco-tourist destination.
An ancient Shiva temple with Banyan, Tamarind and Karanj trees around is expected to attract visitors. Further, the 55 mtr Bheel-Beri waterfall is another eye-catching attraction.
The sanctuary with rich flora and fauna and home to leopard, wolves, chinkara, wild board etc., is a much recommended trip.
