Fast and Furious | Police chase Opium smugglers from Neemuch to Udaipur | Full story

Neemuch Cantt police managed had their biggest seizure of Opium in the last 5 years. Story of capturing of the thief and recovery of the Opium smugglers was nothing short of a Bollywood script. 2 smugglers were captured and 35 Kg opium seized.

The story started a few days back when a smuggler, Rajesh, was captured by Cantt police near Neemuch bus stand with 1 kg Opium. On strict interrogation, he mentioned about the role of Mukesh Jat from Rooppura. With help of Rajesh, police tried to trace Mukesh but he stayed at large.

Yesterday, police got information that Mukesh was smuggling a huge amount of Opium in his car. To investigate the same a team lead by Sub-Inspector V.D.Joshi was formed. As per police information, a luxury car with number MP09-CS-2964 was carrying the smuggled load. When police tried stopping the car at Doonglawda Phante, the car driver increased the speed and sped off.

Police was now convinced about the smuggling piece and started their car chase. The smuggler’s car was however a lot faster than police vehicle and speeding towards the Udaipur Highway.

At this, V.D.Joshi informed his senior officials and they immediately had a talk with Udaipur SP. Rajasthan Police then set-up out a checkpost at Dabok crossroad and finally managed to track the car down before Udaipur airport. Police then carried out an extensive search in the car but could not trace anything.

Police was however convinced and so they took the car back to Neemuch and carried out a strict investigation with Mukesh. He finally gave in. A car mechanic was then called and he found a box underneath the car and between the two tyres at back that was so neatly screwed to the car that it looked like a part of car’s body. On opening up the screws, 9 polybags containing 35 kg Opium was recovered.
