Motorcycle Company Harley Davidson recalls 57000 bikes because of oil leaks that could cause a crash.

On Friday, 2nd June 2017, the Harley Davidson Company announced to recall 57000 bikes worldwide since the clamps on oil cooler lines were improperly installed and could cause the bike to crash. Among the recalled versions are 2017 Electra Glide Ultra Classic, Police Electra Glide, Police Road King, Road King, Road King Special, Street Glide special, Street Glide, Road Glide and Road Glide special bikes built from July 2, 2016 to May 9,2017. As per the company, the recall is in the interest of safety of its customers.

The oil clamp may not have been installed correctly which caused oil leak spewing oil in the path of rear tire. The company had nine reports of the fault which caused two crashes resulting in minor injury in one case. Dealers will inspect the clamps and fix the same free of charge.

As per reports, this is not the first recall as last summer 27000 bikes had reported clutch master cylinder problem. The recall will commence on Tuesday 6th June.
