High Court grants interim relief to Kiran Maheshwari

Higher Education Minister Kiran Maheshwari has been granted an interim relief by High Court today in case of alleged forging of her nomination papers filed at the time of 2013 assembly elections.

Jitendra Kumar Khateek had alleged that Maheshwari had filed incomplete nomination papers at the time of contesting the election from Rajsamand.

Advocate Sachin Acharya, representing Kiran Maheshwari, said that Maheshwari had filed the nomination on 11 Nov 2013. This was checked by the election officer and declared valid on 13-Nov. He said that Khateek had filed a petition earlier as well in this case and he did not divulge this information to the court. He said that the nomination papers of Kiran Maheshwari were absolutely clean and there was no correction made on the paper.

After hearing the arguments from both parties, single bench of High Court Justice Pushpendra Singh Bhati put hold on any action till the next hearing and granted interim relief to Kiran Maheshwari.
