Police raided a place near Dayya police station at Gujarat border near Udaipur based on news received from informer. As per the news, illegal liquor from Haryana was being traded here. Seeing police team, all liquor smugglers managed to escape through forest route nearby.

Police checked the entire area for smugglers but couldn’t nab any. All they found were unregistered vehicles parked inside the forest. There were 4 cars and one luxury vehicle which have been seized by the police.

Since Dayya is the last point of Jhadol near Gujarat border, it has become very comfortable for liquor smugglers. All liquor shops are merely 2 kilometres away from here. Since there is wild life sanctuary in this area, transportation is not very frequent here. This becomes a plus point for liquor smugglers to trade illegal liquor without any disturbance. It may be noted that Himmat Nagar police had nabbed the biggest liquor smuggler this month itself.
