A truck carrying 600 cartons of liquor was seized today by excise officials in Mavli region. The excise officials had received a tip-off from an informer about the truck illegally carrying liquor.

The truck ostensibly carrying soap stone was intercepted by excise officials. The search revealed 600 liquor cartons hidden beneath soap stone cartons. Cartons carrying Haryana made liquor are estimated to be worth Rs 25 Lakhs.

Truck drivers fled on seeing the excise officials. The truck has been seized. As per documentation available in the truck, it belongs to Chittorgarh resident Shishir Chowdhary.

Investigations have been initiated in the case.
